Discussion on March 25 Set

Please check out the last 3 comments on the previous post, 2 from Hannah and 1 from Caleb. Look at this version of Talmidim (click here) and respond to Hannah's suggestion, which I agree with.

As to set flow...what do you all have to say?  If we change the set, change to what?  We have a very simple team this week, and perhaps no drummer.  It is fine to do a set with only 3 songs...gives a little more time to the ones we do.

Also, I cannot find what I feel is a good sample for the walk in song (old school, Oh Happy Day). Can we replace it and keep looking, or just push it ahead to a week we have more musicians?

  1. Hey I think that taking out humble thyself and doing just three songs is great. I also think switching the walk in song to something a little faster would be better even though i love the old school version.

  2. Hey this is Hannah,
i think choosing a new intro would be a great idea. As far as the speaking part goes who will be memorizing and what parts. Maybe we could give everyone who has a microphone could memorize/ read a part of the text.

  3. Let everything That, let everything that, let everything that hath breathe praise the Lord...

Could work as a walking in song, even only the chorus..It is a sort of "call to worship."

  4. As to the speaking part on Talmmidim...should I break it down? Is everyone comfortable with speaking? Anna has been practicing it on the guitar all week, but I'm not sure she will want to also speak.

hey this videos sick, lets play it have everyone sit, and play like just piano and guotar over it then when he finishes we'd be standing and continuing the song, the picture of those people goin crazy and jumpin is so sick! and i love it, and i think it would make the experience more for the people at youth.
Do it in 3 weeks? sound good everyone?

  6. Three weeks out sounds goo, so we'll put it first? on the set list we craft later tonight for April 8th

How about tonight? Are we good with the three songs, and take the time on Talmidim at rehearsal to make it really work?
